* Leading vulnerability intelligence provider, Secunia, was convinced that anti-virus products would exhibit poor performance against keylogging spyware. Customers using anti-virus programs often expect that they are protected. Therefore, they decided to test some "high-end" product bundles that are being marketed as comprehensive Internet Security Suites, thus leaving the impression that the user is "fully protected against all Internet threats". Secunia tested 12 of the leading solutions against 300 exploits. Their protection from keyloggers and clickjacking were extremely poor.
Norton Internet Security 2009 was the only solution to stop over 20% (21.33% which is still extremely low). All other solutions including McAfee Internet Security Suite 2009, AVG Internet Security 8.0, TrendMicro Internet Security 2008, Windows Live OneCare and Zone Alarm Security Suite 8 ALL STOPPED LESS THAN 3% (3 out of 100). |
